Terms of use

Last updated:

Este texto solo está en inglés. Se rige por la ley española.

About these terms

These terms apply to Solo, or not (soloornot.com), a free, non-commercial project run by Marc Muñoz Gimeno from Spain. By creating an account or using the site you accept them, along with the Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or older. Solo, or not helps people who don't know each other meet while travelling, so it is only for adults.
  • One account per person, with true details. Keep your password to yourself: what happens in your account is your responsibility.
  • Your username is public, so don't pick one that impersonates someone or offends.

The service

Solo, or not lets you plan trips alone or with others, browse destinations and places, and, if you choose, see who else will be around. It is free and offered as it is: features may change, pause or end, and the site may sometimes be unavailable. Keep your own copy of anything essential, such as bookings and tickets.

Travel information is a guide

Entry requirements, visas, vaccinations, fees, places, opening hours, prices and seasons are gathered with care, but they change and may be incomplete or out of date. Always check with official sources (embassies, airlines, government websites) before you travel. Solo, or not is not responsible if you are refused boarding or entry, or for any cost that follows.

Meeting other travellers

Meeting people is your choice and your responsibility. Solo, or not doesn't check who users are and isn't responsible for what happens between them, online or in person. Use common sense: meet in public places, tell someone where you are, and never share where you sleep until you trust someone.

Rules of conduct

Don't use Solo, or not to:

  • harass, threaten, deceive or discriminate against anyone;
  • post content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • share other people's personal data without their permission;
  • advertise, send spam, or post fake reviews (including about places you run or compete with);
  • scrape the site, break its security or overload it.

What you post

Your reviews, texts and anything else you add remain yours. By publishing them you allow Solo, or not to show them on the site and to use them to describe the place they are about (for example, in its page or in posts about it), for free and for as long as they stay published. You confirm you have the right to post them.

Content that breaks these terms may be removed without notice. If you see something that shouldn't be here, write to hello@soloornot.com.

Closing your account

You can stop using Solo, or not and ask for your account to be deleted at any time (see the Privacy policy). Accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms may be suspended or deleted, explaining why whenever possible.

Liability

As far as the law allows, Solo, or not is not liable for indirect losses, for losing data you didn't keep elsewhere, or for what other users or linked sites do. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

Changes

These terms may change as the site grows. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will be announced on the site or by email before they apply. Using the site afterwards means accepting them.

Law and courts

Although they are written in English, these terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be settled by the courts of Spain, unless the law gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to the courts where you live.
