Going to Ubud? See who'll be around

Plan your trip and we'll show you travellers on your dates. Only if you both want.

Bali's biggest temple complex, under Mount Agung. Go early and take your time.

If you only see one big Balinese temple, make it this one, but do it right. Go early: mornings are quieter and Agung is often clear, while by midday the clouds roll in. It's a huge spread of terraces and stairs, so wear comfortable shoes and allow a couple of hours. Guides will approach you at the gate; decide beforehand whether you want one and agree the price, or politely say no. You'll need a sarong and covered shoulders and knees. It's a good way from Ubud, so start early. Best for anyone who wants the island's spiritual side, not just a photo.
