Going to Nusa Penida? See who'll be around
Plan your trip and we'll show you travellers on your dates. Only if you both want.
A temple inside a cave: you stoop through a narrow gap, and a sarong is required.
The temple sits inside the hillside, so you climb some steps and then squeeze through a low opening in the rock. Inside, the cave opens into a large chamber with shrines, and it's still used for prayer, so keep your voice down and be respectful. You'll need a sarong; they're usually lent at the entrance for a donation, but bring your own if you'd rather be sure. Go in the morning, before the tour groups arrive and a queue forms at the gap. If you're claustrophobic or don't enjoy stooping, it may not be for you. An hour is more than enough. A good pick if you want a break from the beaches.
