Jimbaran is best at the end of the day. In the late afternoon the seafood places set their tables right on the sand, and people come to watch the sun go down over dinner with bare feet. Arrive an hour before sunset to grab a spot near the water and stroll the shoreline first; it's long and calm compared with Kuta. Bring a light layer for when it cools down, and ask the price of the fish before you order. It's a short ride by taxi or scooter from Kuta. It suits couples, small groups and solo travellers wanting an easy dinner with a view.
