Going to Ubud? See who'll be around
Plan your trip and we'll show you travellers on your dates. Only if you both want.
A temple among forest and mist on Mount Batukaru's slopes. Properly calm.
Few temples feel like this: huge trees, moss, mist most of the time and a sense of being far from everything. It's an active place of worship, so go slowly and quietly in clothes that cover knees and shoulders; a sarong is lent at the entrance. It's a long way from Ubud, on the slopes of Batukaru, and pairs well with the Jatiluwih rice terraces. Go in the morning, before the clouds close in and it cools. For anyone who'd rather listen to a temple than photograph it.
