Going to Ubud? See who'll be around
Plan your trip and we'll show you travellers on your dates. Only if you both want.
An ancient cave with a carved rock entrance and a ravine of sacred springs. A short hour, best early.
What stays with you isn't the cave itself, which is small and dark, but everything around it: the carved rock face, the bathing pools fed by springs and, down a flight of steps, a ravine with huge trees and old ruins where hardly anyone lingers. That lower part is what makes the visit. Go first thing, before the tour groups arrive. A sarong is lent at the entrance; keep your shoulders covered too. An hour is more than enough, and it pairs well with other temples nearby in the same morning. For anyone who wants a bit of history without giving it a whole day.
