A water palace of ponds and bridges by the sea, peaceful if you get there early.
Made for anyone after a water palace without the crowds of the bigger east Bali stops. The ponds, bridges and wide stairways are great for wandering and photos, and from the higher points you can see the sea. Arrive first thing: the light is better and you'll nearly have it to yourself. An hour and a quarter is plenty, a bit more if you climb all the steps. Wear comfy shoes and bring water, as there's very little shade. It pairs well with Tirtagangga on the same day. Suits solo travellers and couples who like a calm, no-guide kind of visit.
