A village pura dalem, best seen slowly and with respect.
A pura dalem is the village temple tied to the dead and to cremation ceremonies, so the mood is serious rather than postcard. Move through quietly, with knees and shoulders covered and a sarong. It takes twenty to thirty minutes and fits a walk around Bentuyung. Go in the morning; if there's a ceremony, watch from a distance. Good if you want to understand how a Balinese village works beyond the famous sights.
