Going to Ubud? See who'll be around

Plan your trip and we'll show you travellers on your dates. Only if you both want.

Ubud's oldest art museum: Balinese painting and wood carving from the 1930s in four calm garden pavilions.

Four pavilions set around a garden pond hold one of Bali's oldest art collections, covering Balinese painting and wood carving from the 1930s onwards. Start in the north building for pre-war works and the I Gusti Nyoman Lempad drawings, then the west gallery for the Ida Bagus Made estate, the wayang paintings in the east, and the founders' gallery in the south, which also hosts temporary shows. Labels are in English and Indonesian, and the rooms stay quiet, so you can take your time. It sits in central Ubud, a short walk from the palace and the market. Allow about an hour; mornings are cooler and calmer. Check current hours before you go.
